Hardiness of Nurses in a Philippine Tertiary Healthcare Institution

The aim of the investigation was to determine level hardiness nurses a government hospital in Cebu City, Philippines. Hardiness is personality construct composed three characteristics: 1) control - described as belief that people could or influence events their experience; 2) commitment depicted an ability feel deeply involved activities lives; and 3) challenge illustrated anticipating change exciting further development. descriptive method research utilized normative survey technique used accumulate data. Self-Assessment Questionnaire served tool for data collection. All locale sixty – five percent representative sample nurse employees were respondents. conducted from March 6 19, 2011. subjects showed moderate with regard sex, age, civil status, position institution, years employment organization, educational attainment. overall average score all participants study 5.23. exhibited hardiness.
